VP, Corporate & Marketing Communications
Heidi works with CEOs, the executive suite and mid-level managers in small to mid-size organizations. She helps clients develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies and plans, to engage with customers, investors, donors, analysts, employees and media.
During her 25-year career, Heidi has led corporate communications, investor relations and marketing communications, for some of Ottawa’s high-tech success stories such as MOSAID Technologies and JetForm Corporation. Starting out at Newbridge Networks, Heidi excelled over the years at raising awareness to support growth and funding efforts for global, publicly traded companies, and not-for-profit organizations.
Working with the International Development Research Centre on public-private-partnerships for sustainable development and poverty alleviation, Heidi travelled to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and then India. She also co-founded an award-winning children’s book publishing venture with her mother, which the Montreal Gazette called “The Little Publisher That Could”.
In recent times, Heidi has focused on health care communications with the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) and its charitable OICC Foundation, and she has collaborated with partners such as The Ottawa Hospital on cancer research media stories. Heidi is a member of the Mayo Clinic Social Media Health Network, which exists to help the health care sector be more innovative in how it uses social media to advance patient care and experience.
Heidi has an Executive MBA from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, an Honours B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Toronto, and has completed social media strategy and measurement training with the Sprott School of Business.
